How long will it take to receive my dress?
Dresses take approximately 6-12 weeks to arrive. This depends on how much work is involved in creating the dress for example delicate hand beading takes a long time, traditional bridal gowns take longer than the destination collection. When you place your order please let us know the date you would like to recieve the dress by. In some instances we can place you ahead of others if you need a dress urgently. If you need to do this please email us before ordering.
When should I start looking for my dress?
Look to be ordering your dress at least 6 months before your wedding date. This gives you adequate time to have any alterations made. We can have your dress quicker than most bridal stores but you still need adequate time to have any alterations made.
What if the dress I choose doesnt suit me when I get it?
To avoid this happening I suggest you visit a few traditional bridal shops and try a few styles on first. Once you've find one that suits you, you can then order online. Alternatively please contact me for suggestions. Give me an idea of what you see youself in and I will send through some various styles. Like a consultation in a normal shop.
Why buy from SatinSilkLace?
Buying on the internet can save you alot of money. I dont have any staff to pay, a store to run, or sample dresses to keep replenishing. This allows me to bring you these fabulous dresses at great prices.
How do I know what I am getting?
I have sourced fantastic dressmakers of great quality and workmanship who will bring a wonderful dress to you. Please see the Real Brides page to look at photos of actual dresses made by them.
How much is shipping?
Shipping is a flat $40.00 fee for any where in Australia. This covers a box, breathable garment bag and Registered Post. We do not fold our dresses and vacuum pack them to send on. This only creates to many creases and increases the chance of damage to the gown. For international shipping please contact me for a quote. All dresses are sent by Australia Registered Post.
How will my dress be packaged?
Dresses are sent in boxes and garment bags so that you can safely store your gown before and after your wedding.
Are dresses custom sized?
Yes, when you place your order I will contact you within 24 hours with details of how to get measured. I suggest you have a seamstress/dressmaker do this for you so measurements are accurate.
Can I order a standard size?
Yes of course. Please see the size chart to determine what size you need.
I am trying to lose some weight before my wedding, should I order a smaller size?
No I do not recommend this. It is better to order the size you are now and have it altered if needs be.
Can you do custom designs? Unless we have access to a particular design, I no longer offer this as an option. However if you like one of our dresses and want to make some customisations, as long as you are clear we will do them!
How do you sell these dresses so cheap? We cut out the middle man and bring our dresses to you at wholesale prices. There is no compromise on quality and finish!
